1 Peter 1:10-12
KJV 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
WEB 10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently. They prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ, which was in them, pointed to, when he predicted the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that would follow them. 12 To them it was revealed, that they served not to themselves, but to you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

10 The prophets desired what we have today, not that didn’t see God’s grace because they did but thru them keeping the law. Today we have the Spirit inside us and they didn’t and this would have been something that they would have desired if they knew would happen. They spoke of the future grace found in Jesus.

11 These prophets were seeking for this time because they knew that it would change life forever and indeed it did. Are we this way with the return of Jesus, not predicting when He is coming but instead being ready for His coming.

12 The prophets saw thru visions but they didn’t physically see today we didn’t either but we by faith believe and we have the Spirit as proof. Angels desire what we have, this may have been one of the main reasons why satan tricked man into the fall. We have the good news of Jesus let us share it with the world.

Clark's Reflections / Micah 1:14-16

Micah 1:14-16
KJV 14 Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath: the houses of Achzib shall be a lie to the kings of Israel. 15 Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel. 16 Make thee bald, and poll thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee.
WEB 14 Therefore you will give a parting gift to Moresheth Gath. The houses of Achzib will be a deceitful thing to the kings of Israel. 15 I will yet bring to you, inhabitant of Mareshah, him who will possess you. He who is the glory of Israel will come to Adullam. 16 Shave your heads, and cut off your hair for the children of your delight. Enlarge your baldness like the vulture; for they have gone into captivity from you!

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

14 They are being warned that these gifts that will be given aren’t true but under deceit and not under friendship but the start of their downfall. Parting gifts can be a good thing but true friends would miss their friend and only take the parting gift as a reminder of them.

15 God was going to bring people in to take them. When we don’t follow the Lord something else will be brought to posses us. We don’t need to let God’s glory pass us but we need to shine His glory to the world.

16 Shaven heads were a sign of shame. They needed to be shamed for their sins. Sin is to b shameful and not embraced. They were being proud in their sins, are we?

Clark's Reflections / 1 Peter 1:6-9

1 Peter 1:6-9
KJV 6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
WEB 6 Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, 7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ— 8 whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, 9 receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

6 Trials often bring us grief but we are still to rejoice and praise God during these times because we should have the faith that He will carry us thru them. Life is trials whether we have God or don’t but because we have God going with us thru the trial, we have reason to rejoice.

7 As Christians trials are hard but they can be used to draw us closer to our Lord and grow us in faith and make us ready for the next steps He has planned for us.

8 We don’t physically see Him but have faith that He is with and we because we feel His presence, His presence being with us should bring us this joy that isn’t changed by what trial may come. We have grace thru Him and fellowship with Him this should cause our joy.

9 By faith in Him we have salvation. Jesus and faith in Him alone saves. Many think there are other ways to salvation but believing in Jesus as our Lord is the only Way.

1 Peter 1:3-5
KJV 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
WEB 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, 5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

3 We are blessed by Jesus and we are to live as a blessing to Him by following Him. We need both His mercy and grace without them we can’t stand in His presence. Jesus died and rose from the dead and because of Him we can die to this life and live thru Him anew.

4 We have great things to come thru the Lord. We have much more then what we see; we now have the Spirit and know true life thru Him.

5 Who He is will be revealed to all and for us who have accepted Him for who He is are saved and will be praising Him that day and forevermore.

Micah 1:11-13
KJV 11 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel; he shall receive of you his standing. 12 For the inhabitant of Maroth waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem. 13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
WEB 11 Pass on, inhabitant of Shaphir, in nakedness and shame. The inhabitant of Zaanan won’t come out. The wailing of Beth Ezel will take from you his protection. 12 For the inhabitant of Maroth waits anxiously for good, because evil has come down from Yahweh to the gate of Jerusalem. 13 Harness the chariot to the swift steed, inhabitant of Lachish. She was the beginning of sin to the daughter of Zion; For the transgressions of Israel were found in you.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

11 Nakedness is seen as shame and humiliation. They were no longer going to be protected. God’s protection is something we need and we need Him to cloth us with His righteousness but because they were going there own way they had lost favor with the Lord. We don’t want this to happen to us.

12 We should serve the Lord waiting for Him to use us doing more good, trusting that He brings good out of everything we do and go thru for Him.

13 This is where it started; those who mislead groups away from the Lord will face more of judgment and have to answer for this.

Clark's Reflections / 1 Peter 1:1-2

1 Peter 1:1-2
KJV 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
WEB 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 Peter like Paul went where the Lord wanted Him to do as we should do the same. The chosen is the believers; we who are in Christ are the chosen. We may not be called in the way Peter was but we all as Christians have a call and should be devoted to it like Peter was to his call.

2 God has a foreknowledge of everything because He knows all. We are sanctified and made to a more perfect living thru the grace of the cross of Jesus but thru the Spirit working thru us. We have grace thru Jesus and peace thru the Spirit. We are to share the gospel with others and the Spirit will build the church if we simply do what He leads us to do.

Micah 1:9-10
KJV 9 For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 10 Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.
WEB 9 For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem. 10 Don’t tell it in Gath. Don’t weep at all. At Beth Ophrah I have rolled myself in the dust.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

9 I think here its calling sin a wound. Sin is only curable thru the blood of Christ but they had gotten to a point where they had to be punished. The city was standing in rebellion against the Lord.

10 Gath was of the Philistines for a long time. We are to proclaim God but there are times that we don’t have the chance, there are times we aren’t because the life don’t show it, for them their lives stopped honoring God.

Clark's Reflections / James 5:19-20

James 5:19-20
KJV 19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
WEB 19 Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

19 There are some many things that could lead us astray if we take our focus off Him, when need to keep our focus on Him but we also need to pray for each other and those that fall away. Being a Christian isn’t easy and sometimes it leads to hurt and some people aren’t strong enough, some people want to out run Jesus and get tired because they are going off there energy and not His power because they are outside His will, there are many reasons one might leave but we need to stand in the truth of the Lord.

20 God will let His own follow sin if they turn from Him. This is a very sad thing that happens. Most of the time these people will have a season of sin then realize they had things better thru Jesus and come back to the truth but sometimes they live out their own destruction.

Clark's Reflections / Micah 1:7-8

Micah 1:7-8
KJV 7 And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot. 8 Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.
WEB 7 All her idols will be beaten to pieces, and all her temple gifts will be burned with fire, and all her images I will destroy; for of the hire of a prostitute has she gathered them, and to the hire of a prostitute shall they return.” 8 For this I will lament and wail; I will go stripped and naked; I will howl like the jackals, and moan like the daughters of owls.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

7 Idols were to be done this way when they came upon them but instead sinful they set many up. The only temple gifts were intended to be given to the Lord but they made other gods and devote themselves to them. Since the people were in this false faith, God would be the one to make sure the destruction of this falsehood of sin was carried out. Temple prostitutes were common in the false religions and often are what dragged others into that belief.

8 The people would weep and wail but it also hurt God’s heart that He had to do this that the people turned so far away from Him. The people would be left with nothing but the Lord could restore it all if they just came back to Him. No matter what happens in life, we have hope in the Lord.

James 5:16-18
KJV 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
WEB 16 Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn’t rain on the earth for three years and six months. 18 He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

16 We should be accountable to one another, this is not for forgiveness of sins because that only comes thru Jesus but this is for us to overcome our sins and for us to help each other in doing right. We should pray for each other, prayer is very important and something we should do for each other. Healing can come by prayer thru Jesus. Our prayers have power and we have power together being like minded in Jesus.

17 God answered his prayer and had a plan for it, our prayers need to be for God’s will to happen.

18 This would be an event that would turn people back to the Lord. Our prayer can move other people to the Lord.
